Im trying to start my own server for minecraft but having trouble please help?

Im using mcadmin to do this and i think ive done all the things i need to ive checked everything over and over again but when i run MCAdmin and click the start on the status just stays on "starting" and dosnt go anywhere from there... i beleve it should creat a World folder to save my minecraft world to but it seems to be just stuck on Starting and doesnt creat a folder.... any help would be great thanks...
