Power issues in my car?

Someone please help me before I wrap my car around a tree and make a pretty little metal sculpture out of it. OK heres my problem, which seems to have started a few weeks back. I'm driving down the road and I hear a clicking sound in my glovebox and when it clicks, my heat, my radio, my dash lights, and my power windows all stop working for like 3 seconds until it clicks again and they all come back on. This went on for about a week or two and would happen like 3 times a day. Now this morning on my way to work, I hear that clicking sound in the glovebox almost constantly, but it only made my heat, dash lights, etc go out once and when they did, it also sounded like my car wanted to die as well.(while im driving down the road) Ok, so I pull up to drop off a friend.... car is still in Drive, my foot on the brake, and I press the REAR DEFROST on and bam, my car died, but started right back up after. And also the last two times i went to start my car in the morning, it will start to turn over then its like the power dies for a second and I have to wait for the click, then it starts right up. Any Ideas? I need to figure this out ASAP, as I live in Michigan and can't have my car dying on me in the middle of winter and the middle of nowhere. I hope someone knows... Thanks.
