How can i get my dvd to play on my computer?

we recently got a dvd/cd burner and i just got aMOTION from A perfect circle. i put the dvd in and it asks mewhat i want to do, play in windows media player, show files in folder or do nothing. i did play in WMP and it said my screen resolution and color settings wouldn't let it play so i changed it like it said and still nothing. help?
